Back in time Danube was the cradle of many civilizations and cultures, the main connection between west and east and the border of the great Roman Empire. Even today Danube hasn’t lost its importance and still is the main connection between western and eastern parts of the Europe. On this tour we will explore the longest European gorge located at Djerdap National Park – the place where Danube is most narrow, most wide and deepest, shortly – the most beautiful. During the whole tour you will be able to enjoy in the beauties of this amazing site and its wonders.
Our first stop will be at Golubac and visit of its mysterious fortress surrounded by many tales and legends. This Medieval town is located at the entrance of the Iron Gates Gorge on the place where Danube is 6 km wide and looks like a sea, the fortress and the view will leave you hypnotized. Straight from Golubac we will continue down the Danube road and after a short drive we will arrive to Lepenski vir – the oldest organized settlement in Europe.
Our road will bring us to the Kapetan Misin Breg, an extraordinary ethno complex where you will be able to relax in the nature and enjoy in the view at Danube river from this beautiful hill. As part of the complex you can visit the unique wine museum and their open art gallery.
Depending on your interests we can also organize hiking, cruse on the Danube river and/or lunch for you.
