Travel back to the 19th century, and get to know all about Serbian royal dynasties and liberation of Serbian Kingdom from the Ottoman occupation.

Our journey begins in central Serbia, on the slopes of Oplenac, near small town Topola. This city became the center of Serbian state in one of the most turbulent moments of Serbian history, where Đorđe Petrović Karadjordje, founder of Karadjordjević dynasty, conspired against Ottoman occupation in preparations for the First Serbian uprising. In the honor of this significant event, a grandson of Karadjordje, King Peter I, raised a mausoleum for Karadjordjevic family on this special place. Six generations of the Karadjordjevic family have been buried in this church. This monumental building of authentic beauty has an extraordinary interior all done in mosaics with 15 thousand different varieties of colors and 725 painted compositions.
